Howe’s Jazzlyn Harrison – Softball Spotlight – Presented by Wright’s Sunset Corner Store

As a multisport athlete, Jazzlyn Harrison, a junior at Howe Public Schools, excels in both basketball and softball. Her leadership abilities and performances reflect her passion for the game and her commitment to her teams.

“My motivation comes from my teammates, coaches, parents and my competitive nature,” Jazzlyn said, emphasizing the strong support system and her intrinsic drive that fuels her passion for sports.

Reflecting on her role models, Jazzlyn admires athletes like Rylie Boone and Jayda Coleman from OU for their excellence on and off the field, always keeping God first. However, her biggest role model is Karsyn Nye, a senior at Howe: “She is a great leader, willing to help whoever and never criticizes you for not knowing how to do something. She has been the greatest spiritual leader to me and our team which has impacted my life more than anybody.”

Success in sports, according to Jazzlyn, requires a strong relationship with God, faith during challenges, unwavering support from coaches and relentless hard work during training and practices.

One of Jazzlyn’s career highlights includes starting as a freshman and maintaining her starting position throughout her high school career, a direct reflection of her skills and dedication.

In the competitive realm, facing off against rivals like the Pocola Lady Indians is always a thrilling challenge for Jazzlyn and her team, driving them to excel and push boundaries. “They are a great team and that pushes us to want to try harder and do better.”

Beyond sports, Jazzlyn is actively involved in extracurricular activities such as Lady Lion Softball and Basketball, Business Professionals of America (BPA) and Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), showcasing her well-rounded approach to personal and academic growth.

Looking ahead, Jazzlyn aspires to pursue a softball scholarship while obtaining her bachelor’s degree with a focus on diagnostic medical sonography.

Jazzlyn’s journey at Howe Public School embodies resilience, leadership, and a strong sense of community, making her atrue role model for aspiring athletes and students alike. “Howe Public School has a great program and support system through their staff, faculty and fans. I strive to do my best on and off the field and to be a good role model to those looking up to me.”
