Bailey Bennett just completed her senior year at McCurtain High School. As a student, she was a part of organizations such as Business Professionals of America, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and 4H. She also served as class secretary and a member of the student council. Along with all of that, she also played basketball and softball for the Bulldogs. She says that playing for her school and community is something that she is passionate about.
“I want to play to the best of my ability at all times to honor my community and make them proud,” she said. “My community means a lot to me and I cannot thank them enough for their support over the last few years.”
While she looks to play well for her community, Bailey says that there are some special people in her life that are always there for her and in her corner.
“One of my biggest motivators is the support of my family,” she said. “I go out in each game hoping to make them proud. Part of the reason for the success I have enjoyed has been because of my family and friends. They are so supportive in everything that I do and they push me to be the best in all that I do.”
The support and encouragement have been a key part of her success, but Bennett knows that without her own investment of time and effort, she would not be where she is today.
“It has taken hard work and many hours of practice,” Bailey said. “You have to put in the time and effort if you want to succeed.”
Bennett has some outstanding teammates that she plays with, but she says that there is one person that she really enjoys working with in practice.
“I really like to practice with Kaylee Culwell,” she said. “She is an extremely talented player who will do great things in the future. When I practice with her she pushes me and makes me a better player.”
