Muldrow Top 100 Football Spotlight Trenden Collins – Presented By Trey’s Place Car Wash

Trenden Collins position on the field is simply listed as athlete. Frankly, that is truly the best way to describe what he does for the Muldrow Bulldogs. As a junior, Collins eclipsed 1,000 all-purpose yards playing running back and wide receiver. He also 97 tackles and four interceptions from the safety and corner back position on defense. That versatility earned him high praise from his head coach, Brandon Ellis.

“Trenden will be a four-year starter and his numbers speak for themselves when it comes to his athletic ability,” Ellis says. “Aside from his on-field accomplishments, Trenden is a model student-athlete that our student body looks up to. He does everything the right way.”

Entering his senior season, Collins (6-2, 170) is trying to make his teammates are ready to make the most of this year.

“A lot of younger athletes look up to me,” he says. “I just need to step up to teach and coach them on what it means to be a Muldrow Bulldog.”

Collins doesn’t have specific numbers he’s trying to hit; he’s just simply trying to better himself and his teammates every day.

“I’m just trying to do everything I can on defense and offense,” he says. “I want to push past my limits and make plays to help my team win. As a team, I just want to get better. I want to win more games than last year and beat our rival, Roland.”

The statistics and impact performances last season earned Collins VYPE Top 100 accolades.

Outside of football, Collins is on the track team and the basketball team. Like football, he’s seen plenty of success in those other sports. As a high jumper, Collins is the reigning back-to-back 4A state champion following his gold medal 6-foot-6 leap last spring. As a basketball player, Collins will be a four-year starter that has already eclipsed the 1,000-point mark in his career. In the classroom, his 4.27 grade point average is championship level.

“No doubt I enjoy the thrill of victory in sports, but what always matters most is taking care of my classroom assignments.”

Following graduation next spring, Collins will no doubt have multiple options for participating on the collegiate level. As part of “Team Collins”, that includes his older brother and sister who currently play on the college level, Trenden without question will leave his own legacy as a Muldrow Bulldog.
