Panama’s Caleb Brewer Athlete Spotlight Presented by Wright’s Sunset Corner

By Payton Moody

Caleb Brewer, a standout football player for Panama High School, is dedicated to the game and his aspirations for the future make him an athlete to watch in the Southeast area.

When asked about his favorite coach, Brewer spoke highly of Coach Armstrong. “I have many favorite coaches, but the one that sticks out to me would have to be Coach Armstrong,” Brewer said. “He is very passionate about what he does. He brings a fire to the team, shows his appreciation for success on the field, and is good at constructive criticism without bringing the team down.”

Teammates play a significant role in an athlete’s journey, and Brewer couldn’t be prouder of his team. “I couldn’t point to one person on my team, but we are all a family, and we battle together,” he said.

Reflecting on his time in the classroom, Brewer expressed gratitude for Mr. LeBrun, his third-grade teacher. Mr. LeBrun’s welcoming classroom atmosphere and motivational approach left a lasting impression on Brewer. He remembered Mr. LeBrun as someone who always encouraged students to try their best and never give up.

Preparing for the upcoming season, Brewer has put in serious work during the off-season. “This off-season, I lifted weights and stuck with a diet to better my body for this upcoming season,” he said.

Football isn’t just a game; it’s a valuable way to learn life’s toughest lessons. Brewer emphasized that the sport has taught him essential values, such as teamwork, motivation, and resilience in the face of failure.

Looking ahead, Brewer has set ambitious goals for the season. “I want to make it to the playoffs and be playing at home on week 11,” he said.

One of the matchups Brewer is eagerly anticipating is against Haskell. It’s a chance to seek redemption for past losses and make a statement on the field.

Beyond high school, Brewer has plans to pursue higher education and enter the medical field, preferably on a powerlifting scholarship.

Caleb Brewer is undoubtedly a player to watch, and the Razorbacks are fortunate to have his talent and determination on their team.
