A senior at Poteau High School known for his versatility as a pitcher, third baseman and first baseman, Coby Bell’s journey to success has been fueled by unwavering determination and the unyielding support of his parents. “My parents motivate me to get up every morning and work harder than I did the day before,” Coby shared. Their influence has been pivotal in shaping his competitive spirit and work ethic, driving him to excel both on and off the field.
Success in sports, according to Coby, demands an unwavering commitment to hard work and dedication. “It has taken a lot of hard work and dedication to get to where I’m at right now,” he said. This commitment has not gone unnoticed, as Coby’s career highlight includes the triumphant experience of winning the state championship in baseball during his sophomore year at Red Oak.
Within the realm of friendly competition, Coby finds motivation in facing off against opponents such as Wister, while he draws inspiration from the spirited rivalry with teammate Aiden Sockey in practice. “We really push each other in practice to make each of us better.”
Moreover, Coby recognizes the efforts of his teammate, Hudson Burdick, as an underappreciated contributor to the team’s success. “Hudson puts in the hard work, and I don’t think other people notice it, but I for sure do,” he affirmed.
Beyond the baseball diamond, Coby is an active member of the National Honor Society and Indian Honor Society, showcasing his commitment to excellence in both academics and athletics. When it comes to drawing inspiration from social media, Coby looks up to his travel baseball coach, Chase Brewster, for invaluable insights and motivation.
For Coby, representing his school and community on the baseball field is a matter of pride and responsibility. “It really means a lot to me. It makes me play my hardest and give my best effort,” he expressed. As he continues to make strides in his athletic and academic pursuits, Coby Bell stands as an emblem of dedication, sportsmanship and unwavering resolve, leaving an enduring legacy within the halls of Poteau High School.
