Greg: Fort Smith Northside. 1985. Football.
VYPE: Where did you start your coaching career? Coaching what sports?
Greg: Fair Grove, Missouri. Football – Track.
VYPE: Do you have a coaching/teaching mentor? Someone you have looked up to for
advice. Why?
Greg: Joe Fred Young, high school coach who has had a huge impact on me. Helped shape my coaching philosophy.
VYPE: What is the message to athletes at Poteau under your guidance and
leadership?
Greg: Football is very important but making you a better man is much more important, and football can help you get there.
VYPE: Where is your favorite place to eat dinner (eating out)? What’s your choice
from the menu?
Greg: Fried Rice – Fort Smith Chicken Lo Mein.
VYPE: What are your hobbies? What do you enjoy doing most during your free time?
Greg: Just chasing grandkids. I have five – about to be six.
VYPE: What is your favorite sports team from the college or pro ranks?
Greg: Always been a huge Green Bay Packer fan.
VYPE: What is your all-time favorite movie?
Greg: Cinderella Man.
VYPE: What was the first music concert? When, where and who was the artist?
Greg: Alabama in Fayetteville in 1983.
VYPE: What do you think is the most essential life skill?
Greg: There are so many I could say but I think teaching kids to deal with adversity is at the top of the list. Life is tough and teaching kids to deal with it is huge.
