Hi, what are you looking for?

Poteau

Q&A with Poteau’s Kyjia Jenkins – Presented by Century 21 – Amy Hall

VYPE: What are your goals this season in cheer, both personally and as a team?
Kyjia: I would love for our team to have some more advanced stunts and I personally would like to improve my tumbling.

VYPE: Where do you feel like you’ve improved the most going into this year?
Kyjia: I feel like I’ve definitely improved as a base. Last here was my first year to base and I feel much more experienced now.

VYPE: What are your strengths and what have you improved on the most over the course of your high school career?
Kyjia: Overall my ability to stunt and do any position asked of me is where I think I’ve improved the most. I would say my biggest strength is my physical strength. Being a strong base allows us to have better overall stunts.

VYPE: What’s your most memorable cheer moment during your high school career?
Kyjia: My most memorable moment from cheer was in my freshman year. We cheered at a basketball tournament and I just feel like at that specific time we all bonded well.

VYPE: Who has been your biggest influence and why when it comes to cheer?
Kyjia: My biggest influence in cheer is my mom. She was a cheerleader and she has alwaysmencouraged me to do my best at the sport and supported me.

VYPE: What are your plans after high school (college, work, etc)?
Kyjia: I plan to pursue a medical degree at the University of Oklahoma.
