VYPE: Can you tell us a bit about your life, both in terms of academics and sports?
Tate Trammel: So far, all my years of high school I’ve maintained a 4.0 GPA and I’ve only played baseball in high school for all four years.

VYPE: What inspired you to start playing your sport?
TT: My dad has influenced me to play baseball since I was three years old.

VYPE: How do you balance the demands of academics and athletics in your daily schedule?
TT: I try to get a head start in my classes and keep up when baseball comes around.

VYPE: Can you share a memorable moment or achievement from your high school sports career that stands out to you?
TT: I switched from outfield to infield during one game and never left the infield.

VYPE: What challenges have you faced in your sports journey, and how did you overcome them?
TT: I broke my elbow last season during an intersquad session before the season and ruined it. Coming back from an injury is always tough.

VYPE: How has being part of a team influenced your personal growth and character development?
TT: One thing: working hard pays off.

VYPE: Are there any specific rituals or routines you follow before a game or competition to prepare yourself mentally and physically?
TT: I draw a cross in the dirt before I hit in the batter’s box.

VYPE: What role do your coaches play in your development as an athlete, and is there a particular coach who has been especially influential?
TT: Some coaches can really stand out and make a difference while some don’t, but one coach that has driven me is Coach Gage. My sophomore year, he really drove me and made me a better player.

VYPE: What are your plans after high school?
TT: My plans are to go to pharmacy school and become a pharmacist.
