HULBERT RIDERS
BOYS
Coach: Jordan Hill
22-23 Record: 9-17
Hulbert will go into the 2023-24 season under head coach Jordan Hill with an experienced roster. The Riders return everybody from a 9-17 team that included a postseason push.
“We return our whole team from last year. We had a great postseason last year making it to the Area Tournament. The boys are hungry and working hard,” Hill said. Senior Adam Hinkle, a VYPE Top 100 nominee, is a 6-foot guard who will lead the way, and Cody Botts (5-10, PG, So.) is coming off a memorable freshman campaign. “Cody had a fantastic freshman year for us,” Hill said. “He brought an intensity on offense and surprised us with how well he played on ball defense. We expect Cody to contribute a lot this year on the court. In the offseason he has put on 15 pounds of muscle and has changed his body drastically. He’s a workhorse.” Other seniors on the roster are Aidan Longan (6-4, C), Trevor Mullins (6-5, PF) and RJ Clark (5-10, G). Tanner Vaughn (6-2, SF) and Tyler Simpson (6-0, G) are returning as juniors, and Duke Parker (6-3, PF), Kaiden Thompson (6-2, G) and Jake Botts (6-2, G) join Cody Botts as returning sophomores. Incoming freshmen include Shane Hubbard (5-11, PG), Coby Botts (6-3, SF), Ty Wynn (6-5, C) and Shiye Soban (5-10, G).
