Keys Girls Cross Country Preview – Presented by RibCrib

Another exciting season of girls cross country at Keys High School is just around the corner. Head coach Greg Barnes returns the core of last year’s team that made it to the state tournament.

“We have four returning runners from our state team from last year. Taylor Petree will be back trying to move up from her 16th place finish at state last year. She will be joined by Elizabeth Holland, Savanna Crittenden, and Emalee Hodge. Great group of hard-working young ladies,” said coach Barnes.

Taylor Petree is a junior this year and is coming off the best finish of any Keys runner last year. Petree has the ability to lead Keys and help this team make another trip to state.

Elizabeth Holland looks to improve from last season and hopefully get another shot at the state meet. Now a sophomore, Holland is certainly a valuable member of the team.

Emalee Hodge is another sophomore who can make some serious waves this season and coach Barnes is excited to see how she helps the team succeed overall. Barnes said her effort is, “crucial to the team.”

Other team members to watch include Savanna Crittenden, who was part of the state meet team last year, Emily Rutherford (Jr.), Emily Pilon (Jr.), Lily Bond (Jr.), and Maggie Carter (Jr.).
