Keys High School’s Brixy Ziese – FFA Spotlight – Presented by Ok AgCredit

Keys High School’s Brixy Ziese is entering her junior year, which promises to be a busy year for the FFA chapter member.

Ziese first got involved in FFA during her freshman year thanks to the encouragement if several teachers.

“My ag teachers, Mr. Allen, Mrs. and Mr. Hood got me involved in FFA. I started with the Horticulture class and just grew from there,” said Ziese.

Showing animals is something Ziese said she loves most about being an FFA member, but there are many things about FFA she enjoys.

“I love showing animals and livestock judging and I love the endless friendships I have made along the way. I am the Chapters Chaplain, I’m on the livestock judging and cattle grading team and show sheep. My freshman year I started with showing just one sheep and now have gotten more,” said Ziese.

Her schedule begins to fill up when you consider she is involved in cheer, golf, National Honor Society and Student Council.

“I like cheer, but I put more focus on golf this year. We are the Class 2A Academic State Champions this year and I’m really proud of that. My teammates are a great group of girls, and we get along really well. I also love my coach. He’s retiring after this year, and I am really going to miss him,” said Ziese.

The junior said she wants to become a veterinarian after she graduates from college.
