GIRLS
Coach: Justin Brown
21-22 Record: 18-12
The girls were more successful than the guys in surging back to life last year, making it to the Class 3A state tournament on the strength of a 9-2 record down the stretch. Returning to hopefully take things a step further this year is junior guard Annaston Brown. “Annaston is a Top 100 player no doubt,” said coach Justin Brown. “She led us in several offensive categories last year and has worked extremely hard in the offseason to improve her game. I expect big things from her this year.” Setting up the offense from the point guard spot will be Anias Black.
“She has the rare ability to shoot the 3, hit the mid-range jumper and get to the rim as a slasher and is capable of scoring in bunches,” said Brown. “I think she is very under-rated, and I have very high expectations for her.” Other players that Brown feels will be important to the Lady Indians cause this season are Shailey Hair, Rylee Bush, and Wicahpi Cook. “I’m excited about this season with several returning players that have varsity experience to go along with a good group of young kids,” said coach Brown
