Kaden Tibbetts, a talented golfer from Tahlequah High School, finds motivation in the ever-evolving nature of golf: “What motivates me is that in golf, you can never perfect it. There’s always something you can improve on and that’s what keeps me motivated.” When it comes to role models, Kaden looks up to his dad for unwavering support: “I’d have to say my biggest role model is my dad because he’s always been there to keep me motivated through the good and bad days.”

Coach Brad Gilbert holds a special place in Kaden’s heart, as he mentioned, “Coach Gilbert is one of my favorites. He always pushes you to be the best and is always going to be there for you when you need it.” 

The hard road to success in golf, according to Kaden, is paved with “a lot of hard work and focus.”

A career highlight for Kaden was “making a hole in one in a tournament at Page Belcher.” His competitive spirit shines through when he mentions his friend Harrison: “My buddy Harrison is someone I always enjoy beating because we’re both so competitive and hate losing to each other.”

In practice, Kaden thrives on friendly competition with his teammate Jack: “In practice, me and Jack are always competing against each other in little competitions on the range or putting green.” Despite being the least recognized, Kaden values their five bag for being dependable: “Our five bag is probably the least appreciated but he’s the guy that you count on when someone else isn’t playing too good.”

Representing Tahlequah and its community holds deep significance for Kaden: “It means a lot to get to represent Tahlequah and this community because I would not be in the place I am today if it weren’t for some of the people in this community who have supported me through it all.”

Looking ahead, Kaden’s post-high school plans involve playing college golf and obtaining his pilot’s license.
