Sallisaw-Poteau Area Athletes to Watch – Presented by Tote-A-Poke

Cheer

Gracyn Thompson – Poteau

Gracyn has cheered on varsity for three year and cheered on JV her freshman year. She is a hard worker and will do anything to help her team succeed.

Lana Cannon – Roland

Cannon is a senior captain for the cheer team. She was a member of the Ranger cheer team that placed 5th overall in the OSSAA Game Day Competition.She has maintained all A’s as a student athlete and is currently ranked 2nd in her senior class. She is an amazing example of what Roland Cheer is to young girls who look up to her.

Kennedy Weedon – Sallisaw

Kennedy is a senior leader on the team during competition, on the sidelines, practice and the weight room. She works hard, is a servant leader and is always where she is supposed to be. She is an outstanding student around campus.

Ashlyn Duncan & Scotlyn Cooper – Wister

Ashlyn displays outstanding leadership abilities and character both on and off the mat. She has excelled in dance and on the sidelines throughout the season and always pushes to do her best. Scotlyn has an uplifting personality and great leadership skills. Whenever the team needs someone to step up, she is always up to the task no matter what it may be.

Cross Country

Steven Cruz – Heavener

Cruz is an outstanding runner and always gives it his best.

Lyndsey Clark – Poteau

A great kid and athlete, Lyndsey is an excellent teammate.

Scotlyn Cooper – Wister

Cooper is a hard worker that always gives one hundred percent and is always there for the team.

  

Underclassmen to Watch

Cheer

Kyjia Jenkins – Poteau

Jenkins is an all around great kid who puts in the time and work.

Brooklyn Hallbauer – Roland

She excels in the classroom and is a superb member of the cheer squad.

Sydney Currie – Sallisaw

Currie has great school spirit and loves to cheer on the Black Diamonds.

Cross Country

Isaac Cook – Heavener

He has worked hard in the offseason in preparation for this year. He looks to have a big season.

Reagan Bullard – Poteau

Bullard works hard to make everyone feel like part of the team.

Mallory Moore – Roland

She is a quiet leader and a great kid. 

Savannah Smithson – Sallisaw

Savannah is an outstanding student and athlete. She is a great example for others.

Jonathon Lira – Heavener

Lira is an exceptional runner and always leaves it all out on the course. 

Betsy Gavina – Poteau

Betsy is a wonderful kid and she is always willing to help the team.

Alissa Pilkington – Wister

She knows what it takes to be her best and she always does it.
