Muskogee Area Players to Watch
Briana Fields – Checotah
Briana didn’t throw many pitches in during the 2020 season but has worked really hard to earn a starting pitching spot for the 2021 season. She is a leader on and off the field.
Jordan Hayes – Fort Gibson
She is a four year starter and is the leader and has been since her freshman year. The most selfless player, if asked to run through a brick wall or switch positions, she will and has done it her entire career.
Ralea Brooksher – Gore
Ralea is the total package as a player. She hit over .600 last year, stole 30 bases, and had 62 RBI’s. Defensively she will split time behind the plate and at shortstop.
Karsyn York – Muskogee
Karsyn is a force to be reckoned with on the diamond. She is a team leader both on and off the field. And a big asset to the Lady Roughers.
Peyton Bryan – Oktaha
Leroy, which is Bryan’s nickname on the team, is a great softball player who can truly play almost anywhere on the field and play it well. She started last year part time catching and part time in the outfield.
Brittany Welch – Porter
Welch is a great athlete and an all around great kid. She is always willing to do whatever she can to help the team win.
RiLee Miller – Porum
RiLee is a fierce competitor who has led the team since her freshman year. She is returning as a three year starter for her junior year. She has a high softball IQ and works hard for her team.
Greenlee Wells – Vian
Greenlee has started for the last three years on Vian’s fastpitch team. She plays infield and pitches. She is a good student. She looks to be a leader on the team again this season.
Brooke Wyatt – Webbers Falls
Brooke pitches and led the team in RBIs and batting average. She is a hard worker and tough competitor. Brooke provides the energy on the team and demands the best of herself and those around her.

Players to Watch
Ayana Gonzales – Dewar
Ayana is the starting pitcher. She is a hard worker and a great kid. The team really rallies around her ability to pitch and hit the ball.
Jalynn Joslin & Avery Miller – Henryetta
Joslin will be a four-year starter at shortstop. She is the leadoff hitter who makes the entire offense go. She is a triple threat at the plate and is a nightmare for opponents when on the bases with 83 stolen bases and only getting caught stealing 5 times. Miller will be the ace in the circle again this year. She has multiple pitches she relies on to keep hitters off balance and has good velocity to blow it by most hitters.
Jade Whinery – Okmulgee
Jade is a really good worker. She has played multiple positions and emerged as the leader. Her presence in the circle will be key this year.
Kate Smith – Preston
Kate is a hard working young lady who pitches, plays shortstop, and the outfield. She is the spark plug for the team. She has become a leader and sets a good example for the younger players.
Kalyn Forsythe – Wilson
Forsythe is a force at the plate and can be an impact player on any game she is playing in. Expectations are high for her this season.

Madalynn Huskey – Gans
Huskey is a four year starter that can play multiple positions. She has a solid bat, good speed, wonderful attitude, and is a great teammate.
Kinley Brand – Heavener
Starting pitcher that works hard and has the want-to to win and go far.
Kalan Nye – Howe
Kalan is the leading returning hitter and pitcher. She will be called on to be a team leader this season.
Kelcee Ward – Panama
A senior this season, Ward will play catcher. She is a good kid with a solid bat.
Kail Chitwood – Pocola
Tall, athletic player who can catch, play shortstop, and pitch. The team leader in home runs and RBIs as a sophomore last year.
Emily Gregory – Sallisaw
Emily will be the returning ace in the circle. She is an all around fundamentally sound player. She will be in the top of the lineup as one of the team’s top power hitters.
Kaylyn Upchurch – Spiro
Upchurch is a senior who does everything possible to improve everyday. She works on her game outside of practice which is asked by every coach but very few athletes do. Kaylyn gets the job done at the plate and helps the team on the mound.
