Muskogee Area Players to Watch

Briana Fields – Checotah

Briana didn’t throw many pitches in during the 2020 season but has worked really hard to earn a starting pitching spot for the 2021 season. She is a leader on and off the field.

Jordan Hayes – Fort Gibson

She is a four year starter and is the leader and has been since her freshman year. The most selfless player, if asked to run through a brick wall or switch positions, she will and has done it her entire career.

Ralea Brooksher – Gore

Ralea is the total package as a player. She hit over .600 last year, stole 30 bases, and had 62 RBI’s. Defensively she will split time behind the plate and at shortstop.

Karsyn York – Muskogee

Karsyn is a force to be reckoned with on the diamond. She is a team leader both on and off the field. And a big asset to the Lady Roughers.

Peyton Bryan – Oktaha

Leroy, which is Bryan’s nickname on the team, is a great softball player who can truly play almost anywhere on the field and play it well. She started last year part time catching and part time in the outfield.

Ayana is the starting pitcher. She is a hard worker and a great kid. The team really rallies around her ability to pitch and hit the ball.

Jalynn Joslin & Avery Miller – Henryetta

Joslin will be a four-year starter at shortstop. She is the leadoff hitter who makes the entire offense go. She is a triple threat at the plate and is a nightmare for opponents when on the bases with 83 stolen bases and only getting caught stealing 5 times. Miller will be the ace in the circle again this year. She has multiple pitches she relies on to keep hitters off balance and has good velocity to blow it by most hitters.

Jade Whinery – Okmulgee

Jade is a really good worker. She has played multiple positions and emerged as the leader. Her presence in the circle will be key this year.

Kate Smith – Preston

Kate is a hard working young lady who pitches, plays shortstop, and the outfield. She is the spark plug for the team. She has become a leader and sets a good example for the younger players.

Kalyn Forsythe – Wilson

Forsythe is a force at the plate and can be an impact player on any game she is playing in. Expectations are high for her this season.
