Poteau’s Jace Hall – Indian Capital Technology Center Spotlight

While most athletes put in a lot of work to be the best that they can be, there is another component of their life that is vital to their success. A solid support system can be a game-changer for athletes. If there are times that they hit a rut or a bad patch in competition, they have a group of people that help them work through it.

Jace Hall is a junior at Poteau High School where he is a multi-sport athlete. He says that while there are a number of people that help him, there is one person that has always been in his corner.

“One of my biggest role models and influencers is my mom,” he said. “She is the hardest working person I know. I never have to worry about anything. I can always count on my mom day or night no matter the issue.”

Jace is a member of the Pirate’s football, basketball, and track teams. Throughout his career of playing sports, he has had a lot of great experiences, but he says that there are a few that he really enjoyed.

“I think the highlight of my career would have to be making it to the semifinals in football last year,” he stated. “Another would have to be qualifying for state in track two years in a row.”

Hall has put in a lot of work in order to get to where he is today, but he says that his motivation comes from those around him.

“It has taken a lot of hard work in the classroom, on the field, on the court, and on the track,” he said. “Also never settling for anything but the very best and always doing the best whenever no one is watching. I want to be the best that I can be for my mom, teammates, and family. That is what makes me want to continually put in the work. It does not matter who the opponent is unless it is Sallisaw. I am ready to beat any team from Sallisaw.”

Along with sports, Jace is also a member of the National Honor Society, the student council, FCCLA, and Gearup.
