Q&A with Tahlequah’s Loren Walker – Presented by Bank of Cherokee County

VYPE: What goals do you have for this year?

Loren: My goals this year are to win regionals, have a great time, and make it past the first round of state, and to also keep up with my grades of course.

VYPE: What has softball taught you that you use in your daily life?

Loren: Something that softball taught me to use in my daily life is definitely time management.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why?

Loren: My favorite teacher would have to be Mrs. Harris from my junior year because she always let us photoshop pictures on our own and I would photoshop funny pictures with my friends in them.

VYPE: Who inspires you and why?

Loren: Someone who inspires me is one of my softball coaches, Dana Cundiff, because she always reminds me to work my hardest in both softball and life.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?

Loren: A teammate that has left the biggest impression on me is Mikah Vann. She is the funniest and most caring person I’ve ever met. She is very understanding, so over the years it’s allowed us to just click and become best friends. All around I think she’s pretty cool and I’m very happy to say she’s a very close friend of mine.

VYPE: What is your favorite part about being on a team?

Loren: My favorite part about being on a team is that it’s allowed me to find my voice and make new friends, both on my school ball team and travel ball team. I have made some very strong friendships thanks to softball over the years.

VYPE: Who in your family is the best athlete? Explain.

Loren: The best athlete in my family would have to be my older sister who got a scholarship from playing softball, but I haven’t finished high school yet, so I come a very close second.

VYPE: What’s one sport you wish you could play that you don’t already play?

Loren: A sport I wish I could play would have to be soccer because it still involves the outdoors, which is something I am very used to.

VYPE: What’s your go-to pregame song?

Loren: My go-to pregame song is “Headlines” by Drake.
